be held on Sunday, the 4th of Nissan, the 24th of March, at 10 o'clock, A. M., at the
Vestry Room of the Portuguese Congregation, in Cherry Street.

The following Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws, laid on the table at the last Stated Meeting, will
come up for action:

“The Committee for revising the Constitution and By-Laws beg leave to offer the following additional Amend-
ments:

AMENDMENTS TO CONSTITUTION.

ARTICLE IV. SECT. 1. Strike out after the world “and” “two,” and insert “four.”

ARTICLE XV. After the world “paying” strike out “six” and insert “eight.”

AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAWS.

Make the first paragraph SECT. 1, and let those paragraphs now marked one to nine, be subdivisions of said SECT. 1,
and marked a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, and i, respectively; and change the numbering of the remaining sections to corre-
spond with this alteration: so SECT. 10 will be 2; 11, 3; 12, 4; 13, 5; and make SECT. 14 and 15 SECT. 6, to read
as follows:

“The Board shall at their first meeting after the annual election, and oftener if occasion requires, draw the names
of the several members out of a box, to be provided, for the purpose of performing the duties of the watch, which
shall be as follows:

“From the first, &c.”

Make SECT. 16, SECT. 7; SECT. 17, SECT. 8; SECT. 18, SECT. 9; and strike out “and in the event of” till
“funeral.”

Make SECT. 19, SECT. 10, and let it read, “A messenger shall be appointed by the Board at their first meeting
after the annual election, who shall receive such salary as shall be fixed form time to time by them; he shall give
satisfactory security to the Board, and shall perform all the duties required of him.”

Make SECT. 20, SECT. 11, and add after the word “messenger” “if a member.”

Make SECT. 21, SECT. 12; SECT. 22, SECT. 13, and alter so as to read: “The Secretary shall make out the bills
and hand them to the Treasurer for collection. He shall also record,” &c.

Make SECT. 23, SECT. 14; SECT. 24, SECT. 15, and alter the whole so as to read: “The Treasurer shall at each
and every annual meeting exhibit,” &c.

Make SECT. 25, SECT. 16; SECT. 26, SECT. 17; SECT. 27, SECT. 18; SECT. 28, SECT. 19; SECT. 29, SECT. 20;
make a new SECT. 21, to read: “In case of the death of a member, every member shall be charged 25 cents for
the use of the Society.”

Make SECTS. 30, 31, and 32, SECT. 22, and let it read: “The following fines shall be enforced by the Society, viz.”

Insert the present SECT. 30, next the present SECT. 32, and strike out after “said duties” the words “after consent-
ing to serve,” after “serve” in the next paragraph read “notice or attend on meeting,” after מנין read “25 cents,
and should the,” &c.

SPECIAL AMENDMENTS PROPOSED BY MR. LEESER.

ARTICLE IV. After the above amendment “four” add “who shall take the duties of the office in rotation; and
the person who has been longest in office to be the senior, or if elected at the same time, the one who has the largest
number of votes, and if the vote be equal, seniority is to be decided by lot.”

ARTICLE XVII. SECT. 3. Strike out all after the word “Philadelphia.”

Strike out By-law 29.

Make a new section, “If the Board deem it requisite they may appoint an Assistant Secretary, to whom they may
give a compensation not exceeding twenty dollars per annum. Such Assistant Secretary need not be a member of
the Society.
